Simulation of the Reed-Frost model for epidemics: different sub-populations

Usage of this interactive tutorial assumes familiarity with the model of epidemics developed by L. Reed and W.H. Frost. If you did not yet do so, please visit first tutorial no. 1.
The model developed in this tutorial simulates an epidemics occurring in a village inhabited by 1,000 people, all non-immune. The members of the population have different genetically determined sensitivity to the disease: 50% of them are highly prone to succumb to contagion, 50% are less prone. 100% sensitivity is assigned to the members of the first group, and you can select the percentage sensitivity of the members of the second group (chosing 100% implies no difference, 0% simulates the immune state obtained by vaccination; it is suggested that you explore intermediate values). If an individual becomes affected the course of the disease and extent of transmission is independent on he/she belonging to the sensitive or resistant sub-population.
Please select the level of sensitivity of the resistant sub-population:
100% ; 75% ; 50% ; 25% ; 0% .
